About Us

About the Founder

I, Prince Isaac Stephen, a Sri Lankan national, have been living in Doha, Qatar, since 1983. I came to Qatar as a young bachelor seeking employment, but God had a far greater purpose for my life. Soon after my arrival, the Lord placed a burden on my heart to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ, especially among Sri Lankans and others who had not yet heard the Good News This calling was firmly established through our Lord’s Great Commission:

Matthew 28:19 “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Although serving the Lord in this land came with many challenges, God has faithfully sustained, strengthened, and guided me by His grace. Step by step, He opened doors for ministry, enabling us to proclaim His Word with power. Through His grace, many lives have been transformed through salvation, healing, and deliverance.

As the Apostle Paul declares: Romans 1:16 “For I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone who believes.”

Inspired by this truth, El Bethel Power Ministries (EBPM) was established in 1984, just one year after my arrival in Qatar. By the grace of God, the ministry began discreetly under a tree in the Arabian Desert at a time when Christian worship and public ministry were not permitted in the country. From those humble beginnings, the Lord has expanded His work beyond Qatar into Sri Lanka, Ghana, and Kenya. It has been my privilege to serve as the Founder and Senior Pastor, witnessing God’s faithfulness throughout this remarkable journey.

In 1987, God blessed me with a wonderful wife, and we were married in Sri Lanka. She later joined me in Qatar, and together we began conducting prayer meetings and worship services in our home. These gatherings were also held discreetly because worship by expatriate Christians was highly restricted at that time. Even under these circumstances, people experienced the saving grace, healing, and delivering power of Jesus Christ. Many came to faith, joined our fellowship, and the Lord continued to add to His Church Day by day. By God’s abundant grace, the ministry has continued to grow. Today, El Bethel Power Ministries conducts worship services in five language congregations in Doha, Qatar: Tamil, Sinhala, Ethiopian, Telugu, and International (English). Believers from many nations worship together as one family in Christ, including people from Sri Lanka, India, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, the Philippines, and many other countries.

The Lord has also enabled us to establish numerous branch ministries throughout Sri Lanka, Ghana, and Kenya, where His work continues to flourish and bear much fruit.

Looking back over the past 42 years in Gods service, I can confidently testify that every step of this ministry has been sustained solely by the faithfulness and grace of God. To Him alone belongs all the glory. We humbly request your prayers as we continue to fulfill the Great Commission by preaching the Gospel, making disciples, and serving His Kingdom. If you are living in Qatar, Sri Lanka, Ghana, or Kenya, we warmly invite you and your family to join us in worship and fellowship.

May the Lord richly bless you and your family.

Our Vision

To be a Christ-centered church that glorifies God by making disciples who know Jesus, love one another, and share the Gospel with those who have not yet heard the Good News of our Savior. To establish churches in different countries and communities where there are no churches, bringing the light of Christ to people in need of spiritual transformation.

To live one life on earth that is fully devoted to serving God and fulfilling His purpose.

Our Mission

Our mission is to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ, lead people into a personal relationship with Him, nurture believers through God’s Word and prayer, worship God wholeheartedly, serve others with Christ’s love, and make disciples who faithfully live out and share the Good News with the world.

Salutations, Extol the Almighty

In 1984, Prince Stephen, a devoted pastor, established El Bethel Power Ministries in Doha, Qatar., alongside a single family. Fast forward to today, and this humble beginning has blossomed into a vibrant evangelical congregation in hundreds.

EBPM is dedicated to connecting with the emerging generations and spreading its message across the globe. With a global reach, EBPM gathers in various locations around the world, bringing people together in worship and fellowship.

EVANGELISM

It is the presentation of Jesus Christ in the power of the Holy Spirit with the view that people will trust and accept Jesus as Savior and Lord and serve Him in the fellowship of the Church. Evangelism is the responsibility of every Church member and Minister. It is the prime duty of every believer to share his/her faith after conversion. Through cross-cultural, mission-oriented evangelism, Church members who travel to other countries preach Christ, plant Churches and call for Ministers to do same. Besides, as was the practice of the founder, Pastor Prince Stephen, we respond to calls to missions as led by the Holy Spirit.

DISCIPLESHIP

Discipleship is teaching and training believers to be like Christ in character and to make responsible choices. The emphasis is on holiness, righteousness, faithfulness, honesty, sincerity, humility, prayerfulness and the leading of disciplined and responsible lives.

This is done at the level of individuals, where mature members take up the responsibility to disciple new converts. The Church plays a leading role by providing systematic teaching and practical training. Such teaching emphasizes which is Christ-cantered: i.e. Jesus the Savior, Healer, Baptizer and Soon-Coming King.
